One more question - basically the mech says that what you said is exactly what happened - almost in the same terms so I'm inclined to believe him. I do most of the work myself but get a tune-up once a year from a mechanic. I find it amazign that the bike runs great for 2 years and then on my first tune-up at this place all hell breaks loose.

He says he spent 8 hours cleaing up the bike because of the primer being on - that sounds like a lot of time and it's a HELL of a lot of money. That sound right to you? Thanks again..
